On Friday 2nd September Action for Children held an open day at their Parklands school site to celebrate the re-opening of the new facility after a £600k refurbishment. The refurbishment was handed over ahead of programme and within budget by the Principal Contractor, Arrow Services (Midlands) Limited.
The open day was attended by office staff from Action for Children’s various national offices and involved team tasks such as the construction of brick barbecue’s, the erection of a ‘pagoda’, planting of flower boxes, and laying patios. All tasks were supervised and aided by Arrow’s team of trade volunteers who freely gave of their time in exchange for all the food they could eat at the barbecue buffet!
