We recently completed the renovation of a fire damaged property located in Little Hulton, on the outskirts of Manchester. This project was completed on behalf of Sedgwick Insurance, under their commercial division and this marks Arrow’s first project collaboration with Sedgwick. The property had suffered from an electrical fire which had caused damage throughout, including the first floor. Previously operating as a beauty salon, the fire had ripped through the reception area of the business, before spreading to the treatment rooms.
Our first action was to get the power back to the building, as the fire had originated at the consumer unit, it had burnt the incoming power cable, so we acted on behalf of the property owner and oversaw the installation of a new upgraded three phase supply, once we had power, we could safely operate inside of the building with temporary lights and welfare set up and we could then undertake our full scope of works, which included:
- Back to brick strip out of the ground floor, all walls, ceilings and services were removed
- Remove all flooring from ground floor and first floor
- Extensive deep clean of the first floor walls and ceiling
- First and second fix to the ground and first floor, including all new lighting design, new consumer unit, new boiler, pipes and radiators
- Reboard of all the walls and ceilings
- New plaster finishes
- Full decoration throughout the property
- New staff kitchen
- All new timber laminate floor throughout the ground floor new carpet on the staircase and new vinyl in the toilet
- New Upvc shopfront
- New side fire exit internal roller shutter
- New roller shutter to the front elevation
- Full sparkle clean
- Electrical test and certification
- Chlorination and certification
All internal work was completed in eight weeks with a great transformation result achieved.
