FIXED WIRE ELECTRICAL TESTING SANDWELL

All electrical installations - wires, consumer boards, and so forth - sadly experience wear and degradation over time and with usage. Consequently, the necessity arises for these systems to be tested at regular intervals.

The Scope of Investigation in a Fixed Wire Electrical Test

Via these assessments, Arrow Services will establish and secure the safe and efficient use of your electrics. On finalising a satisfactory inspection, we will present an Electrical Condition Report, or EICR.

Our fixed wire electrical test will identify and look for:

  • We will establish if any of your electronic configurations or circuits are dealing with overburden
  • Uncover potential hazards resulting from a lack of earthing or bonding
  • As part of our service, we'll take care of switches, sockets, or light fittings, where Arrow Services might spot certain items, such as worn-out pin sockets or sockets installed in skirting boards, that need updating
  • Figure out if there are any threats of fire or risks of electrical shock in your surroundings. Concurrently, scout for any damages that might surface
  • Highlight any electrical work that's not functioning as it should
  • Scrutinize every switch and control component, gauging their suitability. Arrow Services will vigilantly examine features like fuse boxes with wooden backs and arrange for proper replacements
  • During our electrical check-up, we'll evaluate the type and state of your wiring system. We might spot some cables, living under a coat of lead, fabric, or rubber, that could greatly benefit from our top-line, durable PVC insulated cables
  • Arrow services will assure that you have adequate notices present.

Establishing the right intervals for fixed wire electrical evaluations

Commercial locales and public access properties have a legal obligation to perform periodic inspections and cement an EICR for their electronic services. The timespan between these inspections aligns closely with the building's function and level of utilization.

It is recommended for a commercial property that a fixed wire inspection is carried out at least:

  • Inspections should be on your schedule at least once every five years. You can choose our 100% full inspection every five years or participate in our rolling inspection program which includes a 20% examination yearly, ensuring annual checks on your electrical installation for potential faults.

There are other times when a fixed wire electrical test should be carried out:

  • If you own a property and are preparing the property to be let
  • If you are due to sell a property or purchasing a previously occupied property

What is the EICR?

The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) dives deep into the state of your electrical system, laying bare any safety issues, defects, or non-adherence to the present version of electrical regulations set out by BS7671.

The central purpose of an EICR is evaluating the safety of an existing installation. Our detailed reports summarise the conditions as 'satisfactory', needing no urgent action, or 'unsatisfactory', implying the need to carry out remedial measures to ensure the safety of usage.
